Coffee Tables
This black walnut coffee table was the second coffee table for the same client. This was a live edge piece featuring a natural void which separated the piece and added a lot of visual interest. This was an amazing focus point for the room and sparks conversations when guests arrive. SOLD
This was the first coffee table, first commission, and first large-scale epoxy project by Hammerhead Woodworking. This piece is simple and elegant, featuring black walnut, black epoxy, and custom metal table legs. There is a lot of character in the piece and interesting figuring which the client enjoyed. SOLD
This stained oak coffee table featuring handmade, black walnut legs was a fun piece to make. Followers of the @HammerheadWoodworking Instagram page played a major role in polling on the design of this piece. The top is laminated red oak that was stained black with large, modern, round overs to soften the edges. The legs are ovular in design and over ten hours were spent working them into shape. AVAILABLE
The story for these pieces started locally in Stevens Point, Wisconsin with a thirteen foot slab of maple which produced all five tables. First came the coffee table and simultaneously the two round end tables. These three tables feature heavily spalted maple with amazing color and figure patterns, black epoxy, and custom metal table bases. The two square tables feature custom, handmade walnut bases that stand out from conventional furniture. AVAILABLE
Desks
A very detailed project with a live edge walnut and epoxy desk top and a white oak base. The cabinet of this desk was made using solid walnut and features white oak drawers with flush, push-to-open, undermount drawer slides. The project has a final ceramic coating covering the Rubio Monocoat finish, helping to improve the contrast, sheen, and protection. This desk top was a sister-slab of one the black walnut live edge coffee tables. AVAILABLE
One of the first woodworking projects completed prior to Hammerhead Woodworking being established. This is a simple walnut desk with metal table legs. This stood as the largest project created for quite some time, and now the material is in the process of being repurposed for other projects. SOLD
The second ever desk made by Hammerhead Woodworking, this project was a gift and is used to this day. This project was created with walnut veneered plywood and a solid, red oak base. SOLD
Large Tables
This piece started in Central Wisconsin with a number of 8/4 white oak boards. The table was finished with a black stain and charcoal-colored finish before topping with a ceramic coat. This table has a a metal table base that breaks apart into sections. This piece is living in its forever home in Florida. SOLD
A walnut and white oak poker table. The entire top came from one slab of walnut that was written off due to multiple cracks, wraps, checks, and other defects. This project was very interesting and was a collaboration with others who wanted to learn more about woodworking. The playing surface is a fake leather which is waterproof and durable. The base is an original design featuring laminated strips of walnut and is capped by solid white oak, splayed out at compound angles. AVAILABLE
Dressers
A walnut dresser. This was the first piece of real furniture produced by Hammerhead Woodworking that used drawer slides. The project offered a number of learning experiences in both design and woodworking. SOLD
